It’s been a little quiet in the Mount Kimbie camp lately; they’ve signed to Warp, but very little besides that. Well, now they have announced that work on their second album is coming along swimmingly and even let that nice chap Ben UFO play it on his Rinse FM show recently.

As with Claude VonStroke’s take on Girl Unit’s colossal ‘Wut’, Night Slugs did not seek this project out. Instead Rinse FM regular Sir Spyro and DJ Vjuan Allure took the initiative and mixed up their own interpretations of ‘Silo Pass’.

Yes, you read that right; Four Tet‘s Kieran Hebden is using his recently revived Text Records to put out some absolutely stonking releases this year – you may remember mention of his collaboration with Caribou earlier this year. Well, it turns out he’s collaborated with Burial and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.
The two tracks ‘Ego’ and ‘Mirror’ will be released very soon apparently. Bleep are offering the chance to preorder it here but the dratted thing’s sold out. In the mean time, tune your wireless to the Four Tet vs. Floating Points special show on Rinse FM tonight at 11pm (GMT).
