Not so long back I told you about the new release from Braille as part of Record Store Day. Well, now we have news of a combined effort between Monkeytown and its sister label 50Weapons who will be releasing a compilation EP as part of the celebration of independent music shops.
Last year Modeselektor teamed up with Busdriver for the track ‘Pretentious Driver’ from their Monkeytown album, a thumping hip-hop banger with plenty of kick. Well, it appears I wasn’t the only person impressed by by Busdriver’s unique, disorienting flow and disregard for conventional structure; apparently Lapalux was a bit of fan too.
Moderat (Modeselektor and Apparat) have announced they will be releasing their second album, ‘II’. As massive fan of Modeselektor and Apparat, I can only pray they put more effort into the music than they did the album title.
The Boiler Room sessions have been a continued source of some of the best sessions in electronic music and their reputation as such is only growing by the day. Needless to say, our highlight was Modeselektor’s earth-shattering 60 minute set.

Benjamin Damage has taken time away from his frequent collaborations with Doc Daneeka to produce his debut solo album for Modeselektor’s 50Weapons. The new album, ‘Heliosphere’, comes hot on the heels of his recent ‘Swarm / Headache’ 12″, also on 50Weapons.
Modeselektor‘s sister label to Monkeytown, 50Weapons, has been steadily earning itself the title of “Most Discerning Record Label Ever”, challenging R&S, Hessle and Hotflush. Now the imprint has announced it will be releasing the forthcoming singles from Addison Groove and Benjamin Damage (pictured above).

Modeselektor’s Monkeytown Records have announced they will be releasing the long-awaited second album from LA duo Lando Kal and Low Limit aka Lazer Sword. Just under two years since the release of their debut LP Lazer Sword are releasing ‘Memory’, a notable departure from the wobbly dubstep and thumping electroclash of Lazer Sword past.
