Dub, grime and garage enthusiast, Terror Danjah, has announced he will be releasing a compilation of largely unreleased tracks through his own Hardrive label. With only a little rest between the release of his second LP, ‘Dark Crawler’, and the news of this compilation, you have to wonder where he finds the time.
It’s hard to believe Joker was only 16 when he released Kapsize. Well, four years later he’s releasing his debut album. An originator of the “Purple” sound (along with Gemmo and Guido), rich melodies over deep Garage and Dubstep basslines, Joker lets the sound mature on this album, inviting elements of Hip-Hop, Funk and House to enrich the album.
Having signed a deal with Universal in August, preorders are beginning to crop up on 4AD for the new Joker release. The release, entitled ‘The Vision’ will feature a vocal version of the track with Jessie Ware, as well as an instrumental version on the B-side.
There’s not much more information about the release than that, but if you keep your eyes peeled we’ll bring you a lot more about it nearer the time. What I can tell you, however, is that he has been working on his debut full length LP for sometime now. Expect it to be pretty much the biggest release of the year.
