Yes, it’s been over a decade but Alec Empire and Nic Endo are back with CX Kidtronik and a whole butt-load of rage and bitterness. What with the governments on both sides of the Atlantic being simultaneously the most dickless and sinister regimes we’ve ever experienced it’s the perfect time for their return.
They’re kicking off the build up with what promises to be a storming performance at Bang Face in May. The new LP, I’m told, promises their trademark digital hardcore, harsh jungle and breakcore beats and the most aggressive punk we’ve heard in a long time and is to be released on Dim Mak.
The new look ATR also includes the previously mentioned CX Kidtronik, who has also been joining Nine Inch Nails in their recent endeavours, which will surely add a certain wildcard element to proceedings given NIN’s exploration of more ambient soundscapes.
It could well be that the world has move on since the breaks-fuelled political anger of 90s Berlin, or it could simply be that we all need a good kick up the arse and they’re the folks to do it. I’m going with the latter.
