Born 5 September 1964 in Brooklyn, Saunderson is widely considered to be one of the big four who pioneered Detroit Techno, along with Juan Atkins and Derrick May (often referred to as the Belleville Three). Inspired by the burgeoning House music coming from Chicago, producers and DJs from New York and Detroit returned to their home cities to create what would become Electro and Techno respectively.

As one half of the Hemlock management (alongside Andy Spencer), Jack “Untold” Dunning has been cultivating a wealth of talent in the UK for the last three years. Ever since his debut release ‘Yukon’ in 2008, he’s churned out a phenomenal volume of impressive work including ‘Yukon’ and the hugely memorable collaboration with downtempo electronica combo LV ‘Beacon’. His signature sound is difficult to pin down – sometimes thudding and danceable as with ‘Just For You’ and ‘Messiah’, sometimes deep and brooding as with his debut ‘Kingdom’ or ‘I Can’t Stop This Feeling’ – which bodes well for the listener.
Rather than simply reiterate what so many people have said about the sad loss of such a genuinely inspirational person, I thought it only fitting to celebrate his jaw-dropping career. Alongside Busy P, DJ Mehdi was the driving force behind Ed Banger.
