Our latest podcast is here and it comes courtesy of Severine “HxdB” Erickson. Full of warm, deep bass that sounds like it could completely swallow you up, HxdB’s ’100 Below Winter’ mix is the perfect antidote to the sub-zero temperatures. Best enjoyed through high quality speakers with a big old mug of cocoa. Or whiskey, whatever.
Taking in some relaxed drum & bass from Reso, lurching low-end from Alphabets Heaven and some echoing street dub from Djemba Djemba, HxdB’s podcast is one of my favourites so far. I know I say that every time but it’s only because I have a sterling ear and only pick the finest producers to mix for us. I’m a little ashamed of myself for writing that last sentence, but it stays.
Anyway, self-congratulating aside, the mix covers a lot of different styles, all with a close eye on the bass. From drum & bass to house to dubstep and footwork, all blended, warped slowed to between 85-100 bpm. There’s even some soulful moments scattered sparingly to keep us wanting more.
