Germany’s latest patron of ambient techno, Pantha Du Prince is currently putting the finishing touches to his collaborative five track album, ‘Elements Of Light’, with The Bell Laboratory. Set for release on 14th January, ‘Elements Of Light’ promises to be a futuristic and engaging collection of throbbing bass, precise instrumentation and melody.
Clearly influenced by the likes of John Cage, Steve Reich, and Moondog, ‘Elements Of Light’ is technically a continuous piece of experimental music that has been broken down into five separate sections or elements. In fact, each track has been named to represent an element of light: ‘Wave’, ‘Particle’, ‘Photon’, ‘Spectral Split’ and ‘Quantum’.
The album also boasts the kind of equipment that would make Blixa Bargeld’s mouth water, including the bell carillon, a three-tonne instrument comprising 50 bronze bells. With that in mind and the track below to stream, this record could prove to be even more exciting and ground-breaking than Pantha Du Prince’s 2010 album ‘Black Noise’. Fingers crossed.
