Full of drop forges, repetitive bleeps and crushing distortion, Pariah (real name Arthur Cayzer) and Blawan (real name Jamie Roberts) have reunited as one of the heaviest acts in the current resurgence in techno, Karenn. By no means hardcore, these two take the spirit of acid and Detroit techno and put it through a Cabaret Voltaire-style blender.
Their debut collaboration ‘SHEWORKS001′ sent everyone pretty batty last year and now they’re back with an equally spine-shattering (seriously, my back is really hurting right now) blend of rattling synths and full-bodied bass with just enough distortion to get you round the back of your speaker fiddling with wires you don’t understand.
Their new EP ‘SHEWORKS004′ may or may not get a more imaginative title at some point in the future, but more like won’t. Either way you can listen to clips of all six tracks below before it comes out as a double 12″ on Works The Long Nights.
