Earlier this year, San Franciscan producer Devonwho burst out of California with the stunning collection of Purple-inspired shoegaze under the title ‘Perfect Strangers Vol. 1′, wowing critics and beatheads the world over. Since the release he appears to have done little else besides honing his craft and compiling one of the fastest follow-up records I’ve ever seen.
This new effort will feature a recent collaboration with Swarvy, ‘Cabbages’, a swarming buzz of synth washes, effect pedals and crushing walls of noise. All that sounds rather violent and unpleasant, but I assure you this is probably the music My Bloody Valentine had in their heads but couldn’t execute because they only had an Amstrad.
‘Perfect Strangers Vol. 2′ is available now over at his Bandcamp and is set to be followed by a new 12″ for All City later in the autumn.
