Ikonika remixes :papercutz new single ‘Rivers’

One of the leading lights in UK bass, Ikonika has always been a big name in London, widely respected all over the globe. So it’s hardly surprising that every producer with their salt wants her to remix their tracks.

The latest in a long line of lucky bastards (who range from Caribou to Interpol to DJ Mujava) is :papercutz, a Portuguese producer by the name of Bruno Pinto. Along with a variety of different collaborators including musicians, artists and photographers, :papercutz has been quietly rumbling away for a few years consistently producing forward-thinking electronica that draws on live instruments as well as laptops and synths for his sonic palette.

‘Rivers’ – the track Ikonika remixed – features the arresting vocals of Melissa Veras cut over warm, ambient synth washes and downtempo electro licks. The original is taken from their latest album ‘The Blur Between Us’ and is available from all the usual spots via Sounds Of A Playground.
