Chrissy Murderbot, as his last album ‘Women’s Studies’ demonstrated, has never been one for sticking to a particular style or sound. The album (and the subsequent ‘I’m A Asshole’ single) mixed together the weirdest, most upbeat sounds of juke, booty bass, uk funky, garage and even a bit of jungle – only to be followed by the relatively subdued ‘Friendship’ EP on Halo Cyan. And now he’s got a new alias, Chris E. Pants to show off.
The one snag is, he needs a little help funding the promo video for his first single ‘Doggy Style’. As with the video for ‘The Vibe Is So Right’, Chrissy will be funding this promo using Kickstarter, a technique which has proved hugely successful in the past. Despite the rather provocative title, I’m told the EP is actually inspired by his dog Bubbles who will apparently feature heavily in the video.
‘Doggy Style’ / ‘Pass It Around’ is available for pre-order now on Kickstarter and will be released on his own Sleazetone imprint. You can also donate to his music video fund there, for which you will be generously rewarded.
