Milan’s Aquadrop has been making some serious waves recently. His first release for Seclusiasis, ‘Street Player’, went down a treat so to see him actually top the success of that is genuinely incredible.
Eschewing the traditional format of 1 original and six million remixes, his latest release ‘Synthesized Landscapes From The Future’ packs a weighty punch with 5 originals and a remix of another track. It’s testament to Aquadrop’s immense talent and appeal that he’s garnered support from such disparate parts of the electronica community; everyone from 2x DMC Champion DJ Shiftee to Nick Catchdubs to the good folks at XLR8R have been falling over themselves to praise him.
So naturally it’s now my turn. Combining the mind-shattering wonky subs with complex rhythmic layers and mid-level synth patterns, ‘Synthesized…’ is a dizzying listen and should only be enjoyed with top of the range speakers and a stiff drink.
Just to prove it to you, have a listen to ‘Eagle Nebula’, the main track that is getting everyone’s knickers in a twist. And I mean that in the best possible way.
