A while back I posted a new Kid606 track ‘I Want Her Wings’, an unreleased track leaked in the buildup to a the new Kid606 release. Since then details have emerged of the mysterious new EP from the Tigerbeat6 chief and it turns out ‘I Want Her Wings’ is to feature on the EP, and you’ll be pleased to hear the rest of the EP follows suit.
‘I Want Her Wings’ was a thoughtful, introspective piece of fuzzy shoegaze that owed more to My Bloody Valentine than it did the glitchy electro and breakcore that one first thinks of when the ‘Kid’ is mentioned. The whole EP, in fact, is a blissful collection of soothing IDM, glitchy downtempo and ambient hip-hop all complementing one another perfectly.
The ‘LSDMTB303′ EP comes out on 18th June on De Pedro’s own Tigerbeat6 label. The EP will act as a precursor to the impending full-length Kid606 LP, due out in September this year. You can listen to the whole thing below via Soundcloud before downloading ‘Dark Archipelago’ at the bottom.
