You may remember my sycophantic warblings about the last volume of Senseless Records‘s Synesthesia series, well apparently they managed to improve on that formula. And the magic ingredient? Poirier.
It’s no secret that Ghislain Poirier flits effortlessly between reggaeton, dancehall, afrobeat and whatever else tickles his fancy that week. So it should be just as exciting for you as it is me that he’s channeled pretty much all of these styles and sounds into the three tracks he contributed to this collection.
As with the past two volumes, this edition is focused around and inspired by one of the senses. This time it’s all about tactioception or “touch”. Accompanying Poirier on his voyage of the tacit are Lenkemz and Walter Ego, with longtime Poirier collaborator Face-T, Senseless’s resident MC Dialect and Boogat contributing vocals.
