So apparently you can’t really claim to have “made it” unless you’ve started your own record label; Scuba, Kode9, Flying Lotus and countless more would testify to this. Joining that list comes Julio Bashmore, one of the new faces in Radio 1′s “In New DJs We Trust” lineup.
Anyone who has heard the ‘Everyone Needs A Theme Tune’ EP or his hugely popular Radio 1 show will testify that Mr. Bashmore has an impeccable ear for a tune. So, it makes sense that he would found his own imprint.

Somehow I have found time between jet-setting around the globe, becoming a voice for the people via my Radio One show and generally living the high life to bring you a brand new label, Broadwalk Records. Today heralds a new era in the Julio Bashmore chronicles, with a sound that shall echo through the ages…”
Along with that rather outlandish mission statement, he has also unleashed a new tune for us to enjoy. Entitled ‘Au Seve’, it’s due to be the first release on Broadwalk Records, dropping July 2.
