Kid606‘s love of shoegaze and hazy glitch is well-documented. Mid-2000s releases like the ‘Resilience’ collection demonstrated his ability to build fuzzy, atmospheric soundscapes that negated the need for drops, even beats.
Fans of such work will be thrilled to hear this new track De Pedro leaked ahead of the release of yet another new album on his own Tigerbeat6 label. If this track is anything to go by, the glitch-hop and distorted electro of old has been eschewed in favour of something more brooding yet uplifting.
There’s not a great deal of info out there about the new album, though it has been said you won’t find ‘I Want Her Wings’ on the new LP so enjoy it as a nice little bonus. Also, feel free to check out the ‘Ejaculazer Tag’ EP he released a few months ago. [via XLR8R]
