Glaswegian producer Soosh is busy crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s on his second EP, ‘SoFar’. The new EP promises ambient soundscapes, warmth, spacious beats and just a hint of bass.
If you hear the sound of a gun reloading in the distance followed by a resigned “quack”, don’t be alarmed; you haven’t left Duck Hunt open on a background screen, nor have you wandered into a slaughterhouse. Put like that, one would expect ghetto samples, gunshots and heavy bass.
Thankfully, none of those are present as Jameszoo offers up a thoughtful interpretation of ‘Us’ with plenty of space for the melody to develop. This the sonic palette used in Jameszoo’s remix, creating a disjointed, brooding number full of glitchy backmasking and disembodied vocals floating hither and thither.
The EP, to be release through Dutch label Fremdtunes on 19th March, features three original productions and three remixes from Kelpe, Greenwood Sharpes and Jameszoo. You can grab Jameszoo’s remix of the leading track ‘Us’ at the bottom.
