It may seem an unlikely team at first glance, but Brenmar‘s recent collaboration with DJ Rashad and DJ Manny makes more and more sense.
The story goes that this tune was inspired by the real life killing of a teen in the U.S. over his shoes and is dedicated to “all those who have died for rocking the flyest kicks”. It can then be assumed that Brenmar, Manny and Rashad recorded this piece so that everyone would destroy their squeaky clean shoes dancing and no one would be in danger. Thoughtful chaps like that, aren’t they?
Scatty high-hats and jittery basslines are the order of the day as the trio assemble a dancefloor-ready number for you to destroy own shoes too. You can download ‘Stick Up’ before waiting dutifully for the full EP to come out on Lit City Trax.
