Boddika, formerly one half of Instra:mental, has teamed up with Joy Orbison to repeat the success of their recent ‘Swims’ with a series of collaborative 12″ records. Kicking off the series will be their latest session ‘Froth’ b/w ‘Mercy’, released through their brand new imprint Sunklowun.
In a recent interview with JunoPlus, Boddika described their approach to working together: “We’re veering off into a slightly different direction … We didn’t want the music we’re writing to sound like what we’re known for as individuals and that’s been a bit of an effort, so over the last five months we’ve been in the studio just taking our time with things. Obviously we did ‘Swims’ early on which we had a great reaction to, but the new stuff is a little housier, but by no means generic at all.”
‘Froth’ b/w ‘Mercy’ will be released on February 21 via Sunklowun. Glasgow-based distributors Rubadub will be supplying the record and have it available for pre-order here.
