Montreal’s favourite beatsmith and occasional ragga dabbler, Poirier, has announced he will be releasing his latest EP, ‘Soca Road’, on Mixpak come January 17. The new EP marks the beginning of the build up to carnival season, despite it being absolutely Baltic anywhere north of the equator.
For all those lucky buggers living a bit closer to the sun than Newcastle (which last saw the sun in 870 AD when King Ethelred earned his suffix by drawing the sun closer to Earth with a campaign of violence and strongly worded letters to the pertinent authority), this new release will come just in time for you to work it into your DJ sets/CD changers. Anyone else can use it to warm their cockles whilst roasting marshmallows over a well-stoked fire in the Vauxhall Astra that has become their home.
