Sister to Seclusiasis, with largely the same personnel, Slit Jockey has been running parallel to its cohort with releases by a lot of the same artists and with little difference in their ethos. For fans of either (or both, of course), the latter are about to release SDUK‘s debut album ‘Anything Could Happen’.
If you were expecting a collection of tit bits and off cuts from the popular Saturday morning TV show CDUK, then you will be disappointed. There are no “wonky donkeys”, no dwarf launching himself headlong through wooden doors and no barely cognisant, simpleton Geordies.
If, however, you’re looking for a collection of lovingly crafted pieces of electronica, drawing on the revamped Techno scene or the recently imploded Dubstep scene, then this is for you. Label boss Starkey makes an appearance on ‘Oahshens’, drawing the two acts closer together with themes of alien invasions and dystopian skylines as well as plenty of arpeggiated synths and spacious drum loops.
Grab your copy from all the usual spots, including iTunes who are looking upon it more than favourably, any time from now. If you can’t wait for the sluice to catapult the album into your download folder, than placate yourself with ‘Oahshens’, the aforementioned collaboration with Slit Jockey/Seclusiasis co-boss man Starkey, which you can download below.
