In light of the recent catastrophes faced by Japan – a devastating tsunami and earthquake while battling the ongoing nuclear crisis caused by the natural disaster – Blonde Redhead frontwoman Kazu Makino has put together a compilation of forward-thinking musicians. Among others, Four Tet chipped in a new track ‘Moma’.

Formed in conjunction with the hugely successful DJ-Kicks compilation series, !K7 have been consistently mind-blowing for the past fifteen years. With releases from the likes of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Underworld, Kevin Saunderson, Einstürzende Neubauten, Laurent Garnier, DJ Hell and Thievery Corporation under their belt, !K7 should need no introduction (which means the last few lines were a waste of time). More to the point, the DJ-Kicks series has garnered even more attention over the years with its keen eye for talented producers on the cusp of world domination.

While the film itself was a pretty mixed bag, Daft Punk’s score for Tron: Legacy was one of the most revered soundtracks, if not albums, of all time. In the vast sea of below average remixes stands TRS-80′s brand new EP ‘Sky Sailor’, a collection featuring two remixes taken from the soundtrack.
Burial announces new EP
The first release since ‘Street Halo’ in March, Burial is back with a brand new EP of originals. Besides his collaborations with Massive Attack, Thom Yorke and Four Tet, there hasn’t been a huge amount from Burial this year – not to be dismissive of those projects.
