Another producer I’m really getting excited about at the minute is xxxy. There seems to be two strands of the Garage-revival/Funky explosion of late: the tawdry bedroom producers re-hashing MJ Cole and the like; and the more experimental, darker producers like L-Vis 1990, Zed Bias, Lil Silva and of course XXXY.
Bubbling over with arpeggiated synths (a sound xxxy has come to make his signature recently), this new offering from XXXY is a cut above the rest and definitely a track to keep coming back to. It clearly takes its cues from dubstep though there does remain a degree of separation between the two.
